Required documents for KAUST Scholarship

To complete your application, you will need to provide some important documents:

  1. Official University Transcripts: These are records of your academic history. You must upload transcripts, mark sheets, graduation certificates, and records from all the schools you attended. Make sure to include both the original documents in your native language and certified English translations. Your transcripts should also show the grading scale used by your university.
  2. Curriculum Vitae (CV): This is a summary of your work experience, research experience, and other relevant information about you. If you have published any work, include a summary of those publications in your CV.
  3. Statement of Purpose: This is a written statement, about 750 words long, where you talk about your past work, your preparations for your intended field of study, your background and interests, your academic plans, and your career goals. Be sure to explain why you want to join the KAUST Scholarship program.
  4. Letters of Recommendation: You will need three letters of recommendation. These should come from professors or advisors who know you well from your research or coursework in your major field of study. The recommenders should submit these letters directly through the application system.
  5. English Language Proficiency: You must demonstrate your English language skills. You can do this through tests like:
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Score at least 6.5 overall with at least 5.5 in each section.
  • TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test): Score at least 79 overall, with at least 17 in each individual section. The KAUST admissions code is 4107.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Score at least 62 overall, with at least 59 in each section.
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Score at least 176 overall, with at least 169 in each section.
  • If you received a degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, you don’t need to provide an English test score.
  • Optional GRE Scores: While not mandatory, you can submit your GRE scores if you have taken the exam. Send your official scores directly to KAUST Admissions using the GRE code 4139.

Note: There is no application fee. If you can’t provide an English language proficiency test score or the optional GRE score by the deadline, you can still apply. However, you must submit your scores or your upcoming test date, along with the confirmation or registration code, to complete your application and have it reviewed by the faculty committee. The KAUST Admissions ETS TOEFL code is 4107.
