The Pak-Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Program offers Pakistani students and young researchers the chance to engage with Nobel Prize winners in Lindau, Germany. This program allows participants to expand their knowledge, establish international connections, and discuss key scientific topics with 40 to 50 Nobel Laureates and over 600 scientists from around the globe. Participants also visit advanced research centers in Europe.

This initiative, sponsored by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS), and the Council of Nobel Laureate Meetings in Lindau, aims to inspire young scholars to pursue research careers and foster international collaboration.

Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Pak-Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Program are as follows:

  1. Education: Applicants must have completed at least 16 years of education. Master’s and doctoral students with excellent academic records are eligible.
  2. Postdoctoral Researchers: Postdocs should have published outstanding research papers in well-recognized academic journals.
  3. Age Limit: Generally, applicants must be up to 30 years old. For researchers, including PhD holders, the age limit extends to 35 years.
  4. Pakistani Nationals: The program is open to Pakistani citizens who are studying or working in Pakistan.
  5. Academic Performance: Applicants must have a first-class academic record throughout their educational career.

Selection

The selection process for the Pak-Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Program involves the following steps:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their eligibility and academic qualifications.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted applicants are invited for an interview conducted in Islamabad.
  3. Final Selection: Nominations of suitable candidates are forwarded to the Lindau Council in Germany, where the final selection is made by the council.
