Eligibility criteria for the Qatar University Scholarship
To be eligible, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- The candidate must possess a high school certificate or its equivalent.
- The candidate must maintain a minimum high school average of 95%.
- The candidate must receive final acceptance into the university.
- The candidate must meet the admission requirements of their chosen college.
- The candidate must commence their studies in the semester when the scholarship is awarded. In exceptional cases, the start of studies can be postponed for one semester with the scholarship committee’s approval. Failure to pass the first semester will result in the scholarship being revoked, with notification sent via QU email.
- The candidate must maintain a good reputation.
- Not concurrently receive the Qatar University Scholarship and another sponsorship or scholarship.
Requirements for Qatar University Scholarship Continuation
- Qatar University Scholarship recipients must follow the following conditions:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
- Successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
- Stay continuously enrolled (in the fall and Spring) until graduation.
- Graduate within the stipulated time frame according to their study plan.
- Follow Qatar University’s academic regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Follow the general guidelines to keep the scholarship valid.
The Qatar University Scholarship committee may also take into account applicants’ standardized test scores in English (such as IELTS or TOEFL) and Mathematics (SAT, ACT, QU Math Placer) or other scores selected by the committee when reviewing applications.

The application process involves the following steps:
- Students apply for admission and Qatar University Scholarships online using the online admission application within the specified application period.
- After the deadline for the online scholarship application, the Qatar University Scholarship Committee evaluates applicants. Conditional acceptance letters are sent to selected students.
- Upon receiving their admission decision from the university, students will be notified about visa procedures.
- Final admission and scholarship decisions will be communicated to students via email in accordance with the provided timeline.
