Eligibility Criteria for the Fulbright Student Program
To be eligible for the Fulbright Student Program, the applicant must meet the following eligibility criteria:
For the Master’s Program:
- Need a four-year bachelor’s degree or a bachelor’s and master’s combined (16 years of education).
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, but MBA and public policy/administration applicants need 2 years of work experience.
For PhD Program:
- Require a Master’s, M.Phil., or equivalent degree (18 years of education).
- Having teaching, research, or public sector experience in Pakistan is preferable.
- All applicants must take the GRE general exam.
Ineligibility
Not Eligible If:
- Have dual U.S./Pakistan nationality.
- A family member (spouse, parent, or child over 18) is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Currently working for Fulbright, the U.S. Department of State, USAID, or related family members
- Previously received a Fulbright award.
- Currently studying in the U.S. or on a work/residence/student visa in any country

Required Documents
- Application Form: Complete the provided form accurately.
- Three Reference Letters: Obtain letters from individuals who can vouch for your abilities and character.
- GRE Score Report: Submit your GRE General exam scores.
- Scanned Transcripts: Provide transcripts from your educational institution, including an explanation of the grading scale. Documents are preferably attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), but those attested by the issuing authority are acceptable during the application.
