The International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN) has awarded two PhD students of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, the “ISN Travel Award” to attend the ISN-APSN 2022 Meeting in Honolulu, USA from August 28 to September 1, 2022.
Muhammad Jamal and Zaid Abdul Razzak were pursuing their PhDs under Prof. Dr Shabana Usman Simjee at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry and Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, University of Karachi, respectively, according to the ICCBS – University of Karachi Spokesman.
The International Society for Neurochemistry, founded in 1965, is the sole international neurochemistry-focused organisation. The ISN seeks to advance all pertinent aspects of molecular and cellular neuroscience.
Prof Dr Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences and COMSTECH Coordinator General, congratulated the students and stated, “Our students at the ICCBS – University of Karachi are committed to winning and achieving different national and international awards, which adds a feather to the international centre`s cap.”
Prof Dr Khalid Iraqi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, and Prof. Atta-ur Rahman, former Federal Minister of Science and Technology, also congratulated the students on their accomplishments.
